An entrepreneur and philanthropist in Tampa, Florida, Jonathan “Jon” Yob is the president of JAY Management Corporation and a managing member with Garage Doctors of America, LLC. In an additional role as the president of Tampa’s Yob Family Foundation, Jonathan Yob leads the charitable organization in providing important resources for families.

Committed to causes related to education and nature conservation, the Yob Family Foundation supports the Florida Aquarium. As part of its mission to preserve marine environments, the aquarium conducts a conservation program focused on the Florida Reef Tract, the world’s third-largest barrier reef. Stretching 360 miles along the Florida coast, the reef is currently experiencing a loss of coral due to increasing temperatures and Tony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD).

To combat this problem, the Florida Aquarium has successfully reproduced ridged cactus coral larvae and induced spawning in several species of Atlantic coral in a laboratory setting. This vital research will be used to inform coral propagation efforts and improve coral health research.
