An award-winning Tampa, Florida-based entrepreneur, Jonathan Yob serves as the president of not only the JAY Management Corporation but also the Yob Family Foundation, which he founded. Through this philanthropic organization, Jonathan Yob leads fundraising efforts that support a variety of child welfare, educational, and healthcare institutions, including Tampa General Hospital’s (TGH’s) Palliative Care Unit.

TGH was ranked one of Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals in 2019 for its exceptional palliative care services. Its interdisciplinary palliative care team of physicians, nurses, chaplains, and social workers provides patients with end-of-life or other serious conditions with not only treatment for pain, but also a full array of services that address their and their family’s mental and emotional health. The goal is to provide whole-person care that reduces stress and improves quality of life while offering warm, empathetic support.

Unlike hospice programs, palliative care is designed to assist patients at any stage of serious illness. It can begin early in the treatment of an illness and be offered in tandem with medical intervention.
Palliative care teams are trained in communication practices that provide patients and their family with crucial information encompassing all aspects of treatment. Palliative care brings the entire family into a treatment plan and can also incorporate help with counseling, obtaining financial and other assistance, and planning advanced medical directives.
