A philanthropist and business owner, Jonathan Yob divides his time between leading the Yob Family Foundation (YFF) as president and heading JAY Management Corporation, as well as other business interests. Passionate about promoting child welfare efforts in and around Tampa, Jonathan “Jon” Yob has donated time to several organizations and provided them with support through YFF. One organization YFF works with is the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, a group that helps all people who are dealing with a crisis find help and hope.

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay received a $10,000 donation from AT&T in November 2020. This funding was given in support of the organization’s Gateway Contact Center, which includes a 2-1-1 line for people who are in crisis. At this number, callers are immediately given information and referrals to local services to help them. They can also receive 24/7 emotional support.

Demand for these services is expected to increase due to the Super Bowl LV events around Tampa Bay. Considering the Crisis Center is the only provider of these services in Hillsborough County, the organization was uncertain about covering the increase in calls ahead of and following Super Bowl LV. AT&T’s donation will alleviate some of this concern and ensure Crisis Center staff are available to support callers.
Part of the reason the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay was chosen for this funding was the organization’s involvement in the pillars chosen by the Super Bowl LV Host Committee for the upcoming event. These pillars include sustainability, early childhood education, food insecurity, and health and wellness. Many of the resources given through the Gateway Contact Center are encompassed by these pillars.
